The Sligo Bay Lodge is a historic house (build before 1880) which must have seen young William Butler Yeats when he spent his holidays in Elsinore House in Rosses Point. The Promenade did not exist in those days and the seashore was right at the door. The House used to be the Hotel Central beginning of last century. Later it was run as a B&B.
The Promenade was only built in the Seventies of last century and diverted the traffic away from the house.
The Lodge was rennovated completely in 2016 and 2022. Its prime location on the Old Village Road offers stunning seaviews from many rooms.
The outside design of the Lodge was not changed much during the rennovation. Inside the house complies now with all modern standards.
The unique feature of the Lodge is the south facing balcony which invites you to enjoy panoramic views over the bay on a summer evening.
